Trustco Insurance Ltd is the flagship company of Trustco Group Holdings and makes niche short and long term products available to the Namibian market. Trustco Insurance Ltd obtained its short-term insurance license in terms of the Short-term Insurance Act no 4 of 1998 to operate as a short-term insurer on 21 June 2000.
Short term shield products include Legal Shield, Medi Shield, Salary Shield and Business Shield. With high legal fees only a few Namibians have access to legal representation. Legal Shield offers legal cover at an affordable premium to Namibians from all walks of life. As of January 2012 over 260 000 individuals enjoy legal cover under the Legal Shield policy. Sickness is unpredictable and for that reason Medi Shield and Salary Shield will cover the insured against lost of income due to illness, a lump sum when diagnosed with a serious illness and also a cash pay-out of N$1000.00 per day if hospitalised.
With Business Shield the owner of an SME can focus on growing the business while Business Shield will take care of all labour related issues. Business Shield will also assist with debt collecting and each employee will receive a FREE funeral policy.
All short term shield policy holders receive a FREE funeral benefit. This benefit has been extended to include the spouse of the policy holder. The FREE funeral benefit is an amount equal to 100 x the monthly premium.
On 27 March 2006 Trustco Life Ltd was registered as a long-term insurance company in terms of the Long-term Insurance Act No. 5 of 1998. Shield products under the long term insurance include Funeral Shield, Elite Plan and Sun Shield. Your loved ones should not be left with the burden of funeral costs. Funeral Shield provides financial assistance with the costs of laying someone to rest. With Elite Plan transporting of mortal remains are covered as well as drafting of Wills and administration of estates.
School Fees and household expenses can become a major concern when the breadwinner of a household passes away. Sun Shield will cover school fees for up to 24 months and household expenses for 12 months. A funeral benefit, accidental functional impairment as well as full HIV cover is included under the Sun Shield policy.
